About Grand Care
Our History
Grand Care Children’s Center, a day care center owned and operated by United Methodist Homes and located on the Homes’ Hilltop Campus in Johnson City, opened in 1986 to provide child care services for United Methodist Homes employees and community members. The Center holds a charter from the New York State Board of Regents and is licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services.
Our Philosophy
We believe that children are entitled to the very best care for a nurturing and stimulating start in life. They should have daily opportunities to grow socially, emotionally, physically and cognitively in a developmentally-appropriate classroom setting with teachers who are specially educated and trained to work with young children. In addition, we believe that parents and teachers are partners in education, and that communication is a vital link to a successful child care experience.
Our Program
Grand Care Children’s Center offers a cooperative and nurturing learning environment for children ages six weeks to five years. The Center, conveniently located just a mile and a half from the Oakdale Mall in Johnson City, offers services Monday through Friday. Infant and toddler rooms offer care beginning at 7:30 AM, and pre-school and pre-K classes open at 6:30 AM. The Center closes at 5:30 PM. The facility is secure, with keypad access.
Our Staff
Teachers are trained in first aid and CPR, and can administer medication. An on-call nurse offers further assurance for parents should a medical situation arise. All staff members hold degrees in early childhood education.
