Dementia Care
United Methodist Homes offers specialized dementia care at two campuses – Hilltop and Wesley Village. At Hilltop, the James G. Johnston Nursing Facility offers two dementia units, called STAR and SUN. STAR (sensitivity, treatment and respect), a 40-bed dementia unit, opened in 1994 to care for high-level dementia residents. SUN (sensitivity, understanding and nurturing) opened in June 1997 as a light-care dementia wing. At Wesley Village, the Partridge-Tippet Nursing Facility offers dementia care in a 23-bed secure unit called the Serenity Unit.
